GO100% Baggage Screening

Security

November, 2008

Massport and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) would like to help you get through the security checkpoint quickly and have a safe flight to your destination. Transportation Security Officers will be working around the clock to provide an efficient security process. We're asking you to become an active partner in your security experience by knowing the rules and carefully packing your carry-on bags.

Pack smart to get through faster. Keep luggage organized by layering items; this will increase visibility for the security officers. When approaching the checkpoint, be prepared. Boarding pass and ID's should be ready for inspection, outer garments and shoes must come off, any loose metal items should be placed in your carry-on, and laptop computers must be removed from bags and placed in a bin for screening.

Liquids are allowed in carry-on luggage in accordance with the 3-1-1 format. All liquids must be contained in a bottle 3 ounces or less and placed inside a one quart, clear, plastic, zip-top bag. One bag per passenger. There are exceptions for baby food/formula as well as items needed for special medical purposes.

Rules Regarding Batteries
If you are traveling with battery-powered hobby items, toys, or equipment, click here for more information on battery restrictions.
